Mid City East kickoff events this weekend

There are a lot of neighborhood planning events going on this weekend. In addition to the Vision McMillan Partners open house tomorrow, the Office of Planning and the District Department of Transportation are holding a kickoff event for the Mid City East Small Area Plan and Livability Study for residents and stakeholders. The plan includes the neighborhoods of Bloomingdale, Eckington, LeDroit Park, Truxton Circle, Bates-Hanover, Sursum Corda, and the southern tip of Stronghold, but I've been told by the Office of Planning that anybody with an interest in planning the future of these areas is welcome to participate in the process.

Kickoff meeting details:
Location: Community Academy Public Charter School Auditorium, 1400 First St. NW
Date/Time: Saturday, April 27, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

This afternoon (Friday), the Office of Planning will hold a series of neighborhood walking and biking tours which residents are invited to join and point out areas of concern. There's a walk scheduled for 5:30 that meets at the northwest corner of North Capitol and Bryant streets (at the southbound 80 bus stop).
